Travel

They don’t call Salt Lake the “Crossroads of the West” for nothing. Getting here is a snap, with easy access by road, rail, and air. Interstates 15 & 80, and US Highway 89 run through downtown. Amtrak provides a link to east and west by rail. By air, half the U.S. population is within 2-1/2 hours. Salt Lake City International Airport is closer to the city it serves than nearly any other metropolitan airport.

Delta Air Lines, official partner of the Salt Lake Convention & Visitors Bureau, flies non-stop to Salt Lake from over 100 cities.

Once you arrive, getting around the city is easy. With the airport just 10 minutes from downtown, many hotels offer complimentary airport shuttle service. Utah Transit Authority provides mass transit via busses and TRAX light-rail throughout the Salt Lake area, including the airport and mountain resorts. A variety of taxi, bus, shuttle, and limousine companies provide door-to-door service to the destination of your choice—servicing a range of more than 300 miles from downtown. If you choose to drive, downtown parking tokens make it easy to stow your vehicle.

Air

Salt Lake’s accessibility by air is exceptional. Salt Lake City International Airport is one of the West’s major hubs, served by 16 airlines offering over 800 scheduled flights per day. It is also closer to the city it serves than nearly any other airport—only ten minutes from downtown and twenty minutes to the University campus.
